Two categories of music sources may be plugged into these multi-room music distribution systems. One type of source will provide music background or entertainment-level music for common areas and private areas of the home or premise. This is the so-called wholehouse/multi-room music. The other type of sources provide personal music strictly in private areas.

Two disctinct audio sources may so be plugged to the Ennovah Controller of choice for wholehouse multi-room music (only one for Q-26/IP). Any of the following type of players may be selected: Radio CD Player, CD player, Boom box, Computer sound card, components from your home Theater System, etc. Any equipment with a Line Out or a Headphone jack may be used to feed music into the Controller. Illustration at left shows a Radio/Cassette/CD player with radio station presets and remote control and a Telephone-CD-Radio combo equipment which are both great music sets to use with our multi-room music distribution systems. Any player of choice of the kinds above is electable.

Music players may be kept right next to the Controller and plugged directly into its audio inputs. However the Ennovah multi-room audio systems also allow any remotely located music source to be brought into the Controller via one pair (mono) or two pairs (stereo) of wires out of the premise phone wiring or with a dedicated cable instead. Both audio sourcing equipments may so be located anywhere in the home: media room, bedroom, utility room, computer desk, home theater room, etc.

Therefore the location to place the music player for whole house multi-room music conveniently remains at the owner's discretion. For instance the Telephone-CD-Radio appliance may be placed in the master bedroom (or elsewhere) inside the home quarters while the Radio-Cassette-CD player may placed near the Controller in the utility room (or elsewhere). From any home phone set the user is able turn on the whole house multi-room music, switch the music from one multi-room player to the other, or stop the whole house multi-room music altogether. Naturally, at the equipments (or from their remotes) he or she may directly switch the sources contained within the player itself, to provide an even greater selection of multi-room music to choose from.

In addition to whole house music, these multi-room music distribution systems offer the outstanding capability for every household member, in any number, to play in their private quarters or bedrooms the music of their choice at background level or entertainment level instead of the whole house multi-room music. In-Wall Speakers with Mural Pads and Desktop Speakers with built-in local ports, will play music from any iPod, MP3 player or other conventional mini player with an audio output. Volume is adjusted with the player. These multi-room audio/music systems are capable enough to momentarily disconnect the local source when a whole house voice page or a selective voice page is in effect. There lies the great benefit of integrating local players in private areas with the overall system. Keep in mind that somebody playing independent music at entertainment level in his/her private quarter may virtually be out of reach for communication purposes! The system will momentarily break the music for announcements or communication requests to be broadcast. Mini players like iPod and MP3's may not directly be used as is as whole house music sources but only as local sources.
