An on-off switch is also available at
the back of the set which is very handy at installation time.
These in-wall speakers are architectural-grade speakers that come ready for
in-walling. They bear a front grill and may be made to blend with
the decor by directly painting them. The system will output a
maximum of 3 watts of sound thru each of the speakers (enough to
over flood the human ears at 30 ft.!).
Desktop speakers may alternatively be used in home or premise
locations where in-walling may be completely unfeasible. For
instance structures like bricks will not allow in-walling like
stucco does. These desktop
speakers are distinct from multimedia (computer) speakers though
they bear some resemblance. These speakers provide a built-in
local port for plugging in a local music source like an MP3 player
and provide for other functions as well.
Desktop speakers for the music
distribution system may very well be standard multimedia speakers
of the client's liking.
These speakers are used for simple music delivery and voice
paging. Plug-in for a local music source is not available with
these speakers. These speakers come in pairs or as a multi-speaker
set for surround sound as shown in illustration. A whole gamut of
these multimedia speakers are available off the shelf as
shown here.
Lastly these speakers must use a hookup Audio Adaptor in order to
plug into the telephone-type jack on the wall.
Finally
Auto-Answer Speaker sets
are available which provide selective voice paging and hands-free
reply. They require no hookup adaptor since their connection cord
terminates with a telephone plug.
