PhoneBell Q-10d & Q-10f Controllers

Both video control and doorbell chime functions are provided by the module on the same port. In standard use the homeowner must choose which appliance to put under control of PhoneBell: door chime or TV sets. If the port must control the two distinct appliances at the same time, universal X10 modules must be used.

In video control use, the port will trigger a dry contact closure on door calls independently of which doorphone initiated the call and for a total of 4 times. This contact closure will be used to turn on a video screen or a video sub-system upon doorphone calls.

Normally, upon a door call, the Controller will flash on screen current door pictures together with ring alerts by home phones until the call is picked up. If the door picutres are to be permanently delivered on screen however, video control is not needed and the port need not be used for video control. The flexibility offered by PhoneBell for video monitoring is peerless and conveniently fits any desired mode of operation.

Note that this video/doorbell port may be used for any other home automation control function that you might find more convenient.
