Can I use my
old bell-ringer extension phones with this telephone intercom system?
Old
bell-ring phones will operate thoroughly with The Ultimatoll except that some of them (the
very old ones) will not ring on
intercom
calls. Considering the very low price of today's
low-cost phone sets ($
5.00 with modulated tone ringer!!), this is not much of an impediment.
I have call
waiting service from the local phone company.
Will my phones still be able to generate the
command for this service with this intercom system?
Yes, the call waiting service
will remain fully operable from your extension phones as well as all other services from
the local phone company activated by a hook flash or the [*] key.
Will my caller ID
work with
these telephone intercom
systems?
Yes, your caller ID, no matter
its type, will continue to display the callers's name and number, and implement all other forms of
operation it used to, while associated with The Ultimatoll.
Can I hook my
ordinary tape recorder to
these
Telephone
Controllers?
Your tape recorder has to be
equipped with a REMOTE jack in order to operate properly with
these
Controllers. The REMOTE
input is necessary to the Controller in order to manage the activation of the
winding
mechanism. Therefore your tape recorder must not only have an audio input but also a
REMOTE jack. You may use a voice-activated tape recorder if you please, which does not
carry the REMOTE jack. However, you will not be able to activate or deactivate the
recording at will while your conversation on the phone is ongoing.
Can I hook my phone
monitoring tape recorder to
these
Telephone
Controllers?
Your
phone monitoring tape recorder carries a control circuit and an audio interface which may
not be suitable for the audio port of
these
Controllers. You may connect it to the
wall phone jack as usual. However, if you want to
take advantage of the on-line activation/deactivation capability of The Ultimatoll
systems,
you must use an ordinary tape recorder with a REMOTE jack.
