For web-based surveillance,
appropriate software with specific video capture card will be
required. The system will easily integrate with any other video
surveillance system, as long as it provides video composite
inputs for cameras (yellow RCA jacks).
The system is able to cue you on
activity at areas under video surveillance by using detection with
motion sensors.
Alerts are received as a chime note and distinctive phone rings.
Just watch the video handset screen then or flip any TV to the
dedicated channel to directly see the picture from that particular
area.
When using a TV set for viewing in a
household environment, an empty cable channel will be set for
viewing when the user has cable service, or a video Line input
(yellow RCA jack) at one or several TV sets whenever the
programming service comes via satellite dishes. The latter
requires coax cabling from the Controller to each TV set whereas
no extra cabling is required for existing setups supporting cable
programming service. The system makes it very convenient for users
on cable channels to use only one channel for viewing any one of
the 4 surveillance cameras: it automatically selects the camera at
the entry door from which the call originated.
In addition the system provides
video feeds for dedicated LCD screens (miniature or large screens)
whenever they are required in an application. These screens (up to
4) may be setup within the system to turn on upon handset pickup
in response to a door entry call and turn off when the user hangs
up. When the system is responding to a door entry call, selection
of correct picture to be displayed on screen is automatic.
Whenever a mobile flat screen is required for such applications as
baby monitoring, a mini
portable TFT LCD screen may be used as per picture above, with
the option of a wireless mini camera for direct display to the LCD
screen. This mobile screen may view all 4 or 5 cameras within the
system.
There is no exclusion between these
many different viewing options. For instance, you may have an
overall setup with 3 built-in doorphone cameras, one indoor room
monitoring camera, a dedicated LCD screen in your kitchen, a
dedicated LCD screen in the family room, all existing household TV
sets on the cable service ready to display the picture from any
one camera, and finally web monitoring with computer video
software/hardware able to allow viewing from a web browser anyone of the cameras
including the built-in doorphone ones. Isn't
that great?
