These residential telephone intercom systems feature an alarm security function with a single-input detector. Basically for those who don't feel a need for a full-fledged security system but do not want to remain totally uncovered. Great for your garage i.e. Also for users who need an alarm function that is compatible with their DSL line. To monitor more than one area inside the home, you choose a motion sensor detector and place it in a strategic location. When the detector fires, the alerting response may optionally be released to the phones by ringing them all continually or it may be channeled outward by reaching a pre-programmed surveillance number.
