An Ample
Suite of Slots and Ports
An extended suite of built-in Ports and Slots readily enables these
systems to provision video security processing, home automation,
music distribution and wholehouse broadcast intercom. Specifically,
the Q-26/IP model offers built-in ports for broadcast
intercom and music distribution from one external audio
source, while the Q-26/IPC model offers all the ports
needed for broadcast intercom and wholehouse music distribution from
two audio sources. The Q-26/IPC model further
offers the built-in X10P slot for home automation controls and the
VIP slot for video security processing, along with its associated
video in and video out ports (a total of 7). Note that both systems
naturally carry the DPX multi-doorphone interface slots and the
duplexer slot.
Music
Distribution
All
wholehouse audio distribution is done on CAT5 cabling. One output
for wholehouse music and wholehouse voice page and one other
voice-only output for voice page to a particular zone like a maid
section within the residence, a back yard outfit or else. When
address is intended for the whole house it will also come off the
voice-only speakers in that zone. You may have as many speakers as
you wish on both outputs, speakers may be in-wall speakers or
universal multimedia speakers. If you wish to use a different wholehouse music
distribution system, the audio ports are built for seamless
interconnect so you can use your telephones to address the whole
house thru that other system. The ports provide volume control
and mute control for interconnect purposes. Music from the first
source also serves as music-on-hold when a phone call is put on
hold, unless you want to use a totally separate source for
