MiniCom Q-16

The MiniCom Controller may be installed in two different ways. It may be installed in an intercept fashion (in-line) at the very head of your phone line or in a plug&play fashion by plugging it into any phone jack in your house. Both ways the unit delivers full compatibility with internet use of the phone line whether for dial-up internet with a 56K modem or DSL internet with a high-speed modem. Your computer will continue to access the internet at the same usual speed, whatever it was. A selection switch allows the user to select between a regular analog phone line or a DSL line at installation time.

If you have a DSL line, there is no special wiring or bypass to perform, no required splitters, so you don't need to be savvy and expert in telephony.

Let the equipment intercept your line, your DSL digital signal will still be fully available at every single one of your home phone jacks. Your particular DSL service type does not matter either. Whether it is ADSL service, SDSL or any other DSL breed, your connection speed will remain unaltered after the system is installed on your line.

Furthermore, DSL users know that if the service is delivered to everyone of their phone jacks there is a limitation imposed on the amount of phones that they can use in the home, namely only 5 phones since the phones must plug into the jacks with a special (and restrictive) DSL filter. Generally no more than 5 of them can be used. The MiniCom system summarily does away with that limitation when installed in the plug&play fashion: only one filter need be used then for all the phones there might be in the household, that filter being hooked up to the Controller!
