Is
the
Omnicom
compatible
with
a
door
strike
system
from
another
company?
Currently
my
customer
is
using
a
door
strike
which
is
rated
for
either
a
12VDC
or
24VAC
power
transformer.
Can
I
interface
with
the
existing
strike
or
do
I
have
to
replace
it?
The
EAP
panel
powers
the
strike
from
its
own
AC
adaptor
(14VAC
or
14VDC).
Use
EAP
module
with
adaptor
that
responds
to
the
power
specification
of
your
latch.
EAP
is
very
flexible
in
terms
of
power
feed.
You
can
use
it
with
adapator
rated
for
up
to
36V,
whether
AC
or
DC.
In
addition
it
is
DC-polarity
blind.
Also,
you
may
use
your
existing
strike
circuit
if
you
prefer
(strike
+
transformer),
with
EAP
only
presenting
a
contact
closure
within
the
latch
circuit.
What
makes
this
product
easier
to
maintain
than
others?
Its
tremendous
modularity.
That
means
the
following:
- Each
apartment
is
supported
by
one
IPC
card
within
the
Master
Processing
Unit
(MPU).
Each
card
can
be
placed
and
removed
while
system
is
in
operation
without
affecting
others.
Wire
connections
to
IPC terminates
directly on
the
card
via
three
compression
connectors
for
Line
IN,
Line
Out
and
EAP
line.
- The
PowerPlane
board
(backplane
carrying
also
a
Power
supply)
is
removable.
Remove
all
IPC's,
then
remove
and
replace
PowerPlane
board.
- Entry
Panel
(EAP)
is
totally
modular.
Keypad
or
buttons
can
be
unplugged
from
main
board.
Audio
board
can
be
unplugged
and
removed.
Motherboard
as
well
as
extensions
boards
can
be
removed
and
replaced
individually.
