Every body has their own ID and can be reached wherever
they are.
You
don't
need
to
figure
out
where
people
are
before
you
call
them.
You don't get tied up to the phone when you call as you do with
all
other
systems. You can rover around taking care of other business in the meantime and pick up
the call from any other phone at the right moment, because you'll know when the callee
answers the call.
If the callee does not answer after a while, just slightly lift
and
hangup the handset of any phone to cancel the
call,
or
hit
the
speaker
button
twice. The ring tones on intercom calls are a lot softer than
usual. In addition, no one user will ever hear more than one phone ring at
any time. So no loud noise, no hassle.
Why is
distinctive-ring
intercom
better for a household than direct
handset-to-handset
reach
thru? Well, in a
household people move around constantly, you never know for sure where they are, as
opposed to an office where
each
individual
remains
at
a
specific
office
location
for
the
most
part. A system that allows you to reach
people by their personal ID rather than at a specific extension phone is clearly more suitable for a household. You don't need to enable the ring tone of all
the phones around the home, or you can
set the volume to low in as many of them as
might be convenient. The system supports up to 6 different user ID's, though you may
install much more than 6 phones.

capability

even mimic speaker-based intercom communication. People can directly reach you through the
intercom without prior dialing and you will listen and answer right off your speakerphone
without touching the phone. And you are still able to take incoming external calls. The
flexibility of the intercom is just amazing.
3.- Interactive System
This telephone intercom system keeps the intercom calls unlocked to allow for more
interaction between users. If you lift up a handset to make an intercom call
and find an on-going external phone call, you
can do either of the following:
1.- If the person you wished to
reach is right there, you can ask him to hold the remote caller
in
order
to
talk
to you
in
private. As soon as he/she pushes the [#] key to put the remote
caller on hold, you may initiate a private conversation.
2.- If you wished to call
somebody else, you may either hit the [*] key to request the system to warn
you of the release of the line or ask the user to initiate your
intercom call for you. He/she will put the remote caller on hold and page
your desired user. When the phones ring, that will be your call on-going.
When you are done with the intercom call, you hit the hook of your phone
or (the flash button). That will connect the remote call back, which you
can transfer in automatic mode to the previous
user.
If you want to be able to make
separate intercom calls while a phone line call is ongoing, you need a 2-line
application: 2 Intercom boxes and 2-line phones. That does not require
a second phone line, however.
In addition to the above, you can also capture
calls and make
three-party conference
calls. When you hear a page ring for someone you know
is unavailable, you can pick any handset and inform the caller. To initiate
a three-party conference call, put your remote caller on hold and call your
in-house peer. Get back to the external caller with a hookflash that
establishes the 3-party conference.

In case you are
tempted to go all wireless,
beware that a complete and fully functional wireless telephone system, as you will know,
involves costs that most households just can't afford
for a reasonable
number of
extensions. When they include such features as
doorphones, music on hold and the like, the cost is simply prohibitive for
most
residential use
cases
(thousands of dollars). None
offers doorphone call forwarding
and
all-page calls. Beyond two
or
three
units, the cost of these systems is outright unfriendly to most
budgets. Prepare to get stuck with closed systems that only accept proprietary phones and
accessories
from
one
manufacturer, and insecure communications no matter what the vendors claim. However, if you
do have a small wireless system
with
two or three units, the Ultimatoll allows you to
seamlessly integrate them with the rest of your standard
phones
and
to
incorporate
door
intercom
capability.
