Your
Answering
Machine
1.- Complete
Voice Mail Processing
This telephone intercom system interoperates with your answering machine
to provide the most complete
and
professional
voice mail processing system. Best results
with a machine which provides individual voice mail boxes. You will
normally place your machine in a common location, so users can
optionally
quickly
check the indicators for
received
messages as soon as they get
back
home. You will also set the machine to pick
up calls after
4
rings
as
most
users
do.

 |
|
This
gives
you
enough
time
to
pick
up
the
phone
on
incoming
calls
when
you
are
at
home
so
you
don't
need
to
turn
the
answering
machine
on
and
off
all
the
time.
As
to
the
intercom
calls,
there
is
no
risk
for
the
answering
device
to
pick
up
on
intercom
calls
because
most
machines
will
count
a
complete
sequence
of
intercom
rings
as
one
single
ring. |
ATT-1725 |
When
users get back home,
they can read
received
messages right off the
voice
mail
appliance as usual or from the
privacy of their
own
bedroom via phone handset. The user picks the handset and
dials his/her own ID number. When the machine picks the call, the user
dials the remote access code to his individual mailbox.
He will
operate the machine just as
he
would
from a remote external
location.
|
Machines with voice prompts make it exceptionally easy to enter
remote commands not only to read personal messages, but to otherwise
operate the device from afar.
We
highly
recommend
the
use
of
the
ATT-1725
model
from
AT&T.
Excellent
audio
quality
(as
opposed
to
garbled
audio
with
most
other
equivalent
devices)
and
excellent
integration
with
the
Ultimatoll
systems!
Yet if you prefer your
answering machine not to interact at all with the intercom system,
that is also simple to
do
with
the
Premium
Ultimatoll
system.
Once
that
is
set,
the
machine
will not pick up on intercom calls and will
not be accessible from handsets.

2.- Advanced Fax/Answering Machine
Management
This
telephone
intercom
system
allows
you
to
use
both
your
advanced
answering
machine
(with
multiple
mailboxes)
and
your
fax
machine
on
your
single
|
|
phone
line.
Plug
the
fax
machine
into
a
phone
jack
as
any
other
extension
phone
of
the
system
and
plug
your
answering
machine
into
the
Extension
jack
of
the
fax
machine1.
Complete
your
setup
by
setting
the
fax
machine
to
pick
up
calls
after
the
answering
machine
(after
5
or
more
rings).
On
incoming
calls
or
intercom
calls,
your
answering
machine
will
pick
up
first
and
process
the
calls
just
as
explained
above,
while
the
fax
machine
will
keep
screening
the
line
for
fax
messages.
On
fax
calls
the
fax
machine
will
quickly
take
over
after
disconnecting
the
answering
machine
from
the
call.
If
your
fax
machine
integrates
voice
answering
capability
with
fax
message
handling,
your
setup
is
pretty
simple.
You
will
only
need
an
appropriate
outgoing
greeting
message
(OGM)
to
instruct
callers
on
your
options.
When
using
a
stand-alone
answering
machine.
You
will
never
need
voice/fax
discriminator
to
help
share
the
line
between
fax
and
answering
machine.
Your
overall
capabilities
with
The
Ultimatoll
integrating
your
answering
devices:
- You
will
attend
normally
to
your
calls
when
you
are
at
home
by
picking
them
in
their
early
stage
(within
4
ring
counts).
- If
it
is
a
call
for
someone
else
you
will
just
transfer
the
call
to
that
user.
- If
you
know
that
user
is
absent,
transfer
it
in
automatic
mode
and
the
answering
machine
will
pick
up
so
the
caller
leaves
a
message
to
the
desired
person.
Your
greeting
will
tell
the
caller
which
mailbox
to
use.
- If
is
is
a
fax
call
(you'll
hear
little
fax
tones),
transfer
the
call
in
automatic
mode
to
yourself.
The
fax
machine
will
pick
up
and
process
the
incoming
document.
- If
you
don't
want
to
pick
the
calls,
or
if
you
want
to
screen
your
calls
remotely,
pick
them
up
at
the
4th
ring
count.
The
remote
voice
mail
machine
will
also
pick
up
and
attend
to
the
call.
Hit
a
button
on
the
phone
keypad
to
take
over
the
call
if
you
wish
to
do
so
after
recognizing
the
caller.
- When
a
user
wants
to
read
his
voice
mail,
he
calls
himself
and
access
his
personal
mailbox
on
the
remote
voice
mail
machine.
